This training-to-research cohort study during the 2021-2023 school years obtains data on workplace safety, health and wellness from newer, early-to-mid-career New Jersey (NJ) secondary or high school teachers supervising work-based learning on- and off-campus in specific career clusters within career-technical-vocational education. The cohort formed while completing training courses required by NJ codes. This webinar will present study design, cohort recruitment methods and results, participant demographics, and selected survey data.
Learning Objectives:
  1. Describe training program recruitment and training-to-research study cohort formation.
  2. Analyze impacts of COVID-19 pandemic on participant teaching experiences.
  3. Discuss ongoing participant concerns regarding supervisor and student occupational health, necessary safety precautions, and personal hygiene practices at both schools and worksites due to COVID-19.
  4. Discuss teacher practices regarding the use and purchase of chemical cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting products.
